EVERY 18 SECOND, A CHILD BECOME AN ORPHAN;

Orphans are not just 140 million children around the world who have lost parents to AIDS, famine, war and other tragedies but they’re also countless boys and girls who suffer parental rejection, neglect and abuse. In fact such children tend to be more fragile because they live in fear their parents will never love and support them. And as VCM we have a duty to reach out to those little ones with love, material aid and the gospel of hope through the gospel of our savior Jesus Christ thus demonstrating God’s love and compassion through providing them a safe shelter. And it should be remembered that God is grieved by the tears of such innocent children, and today He’s calling on us to wipe away their tears. Through your gift those precious children will be rescued, nurtured and raised both physically and spiritually by VCM who treasures them as sons and daughters of God, created in his image. Don’t wait a day longer to answer the children crisis. They need food, clothes, education, medication, shelter, and they need to see that despite their humble pasts, they’re valued in God’s sight thus fulfilling the James 1:27 “Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world”.

RESCUING THE MOST UNPRIVILLAGED CHILDREN;

As Vangrace Compassion Ministries, our heart breaks for all those children who are orphans, abandoned or abused and we’re doubly concerned for those who’re facing a life of extreme vulnerability for instance total orphans, poor of the poorest, neglected and those in the state of not being concerned for thus being in a special need of love, guidance and monitoring. And it’s proved beyond people’s reason’s doubt that vulnerable children in general- weather orphans or not, are at risk because they lack even life’s most basic necessities- food, clothes, safe water, education and above all a simple safe shelter to call a place of their own.

EVERY CHILD DESERVES A HOME AND A FAMILY;

We have come to realize that children needs more than a house but a home and a family in order to have a sense of belonging and established strong connections with their family members and in this Vangrace has a caring mother and a loving father to ensure the provision of all parents’ responsibilities like parental love, care, and protect them always thus helping them escape from all their earlier alone worries of the out side world of being vulnerable.

FOSTERS' EDUCATION MATTERS;

With clear evidence basing on the Uganda’s children amendment act replacement of section 4 of the principle act states all children’s rights and it proves that a child has a right to education and should also be treated without discrimination regardless of their status weather orphans or not, abandoned, poor of the poorest, rich of the richest, dark skinned or brown, a girl or a boy, impaired or not they all deserve equal rights but what makes the reverse to be true is that most of the above mentioned are less concerned of and no one cares when it comes to basic needs, it’s them to struggle for their own lives and future as well leading to their failure and inability of attaining education and when this gets in the ears of Vangrace Compassion Ministries, always makes us work hard to see that at least we get in position of providing gratis education to such vulnerable children in Uganda Africa through Vangrace Academy of VCM.

Improved School Infrastructures Are Paramount in Foster Children’s Education

Well, as it’s a fact that having schools in good conditions is decisive for our foster children to achieve the expected academic results, though to those who love to study and have no early life torture, any place can be good for them to ready and learn. They mighty urge that the place you’re doesn’t matter, that knowledge is immaterial, that physical context is secondary and that what’s important is to concentrate in what you’re reading. But if we transfer this reasoning to the reality of educational system, the empiric evidence is flagrant, having rooms and learning spaces in good condition is decisive for students to achieve the expected performance in other words the condition of a school directly impact the performance of students and in addition, tends to improve the attendance and interest of foster children since all they need is a palace that can create a piece of mind in their lives thus washing away their earlier alone agony they went through.

And for this reason investment in school infrastructure have an essential role in solving access problems of student’s school drop out thus improving their performance that’s why VCM has no other option but investing in the school renovation hopping to establish and stimulate their education standards thus positioning them to be able to compete with the education standards of this rapid changing world we’re living in thus providing them the deserved education services.

COMMUNITY OUT REACH AND SUPPORT

VISITING THE MOST VULNEREBLA FAMILIES.

With no doubt, many families are living under extreme vulnerability that the world can’t just observe unless it takes a moment of field work in our communities basically to over view such serious factors in various communities. And as VCM, we have met to realize that we still have a lot to exploit concerning who we’re to help and how to help them. And in this we always pay a monthly visit to one of the most vulnerable families in various communities all intended to assess their priority needs and see how we can lay strategies so that we get in position of providing urgent solutions to their urgent needs. And according to our research and assessment we have discovered that we haven’t yet started the assignment we were called to do of rescuing and hope restoration in such vulnerable lives, due to the fact that many families are still living under total vulnerability of lacking what to eat, drink and a safe place to call a home. And though we don’t have enough to transform their lives we still do our best to see that we provide them with developmental ideas, food and guiding them on how their lives can be transformed. And with explicit verification, all the above can be fulfilled with the support from a kind hearted person like you thus giving out a great assurance of vulnerability transformation to the affected natives. And among those families we would love you too meet some of them and their miserable stories

WATER, SANITATION, AND HYGIEN SENSETAIZATION;

With out clean water, safe source of water nearby it’s nearly impossible for communities to have adequate sanitation facilities or practice good hygiene. Likewise, with out proper sanitation and hygiene, safe water will be contaminated and water project will no longer work to improve health connotation that all the three above mentioned are of paramount practicality. Additionally, we have come to realize that having access to drinking water and sanitation is a fundamental human right, achieving universal, adequate, and equitable access to safely managed water and sanitation services is at the core of sustainable development. With a great prove, the importance of good hygiene through hand washing and access to clean water has been further high lightened by the COVID 19 pandemic. Despite progress over the past few decades. And according to research carried out through the SDG 2017 results proves that people access water in various ways that clearly shows there’s still a danger in water access mostly in islands and in rural of the rural areas.

>>>71% of the households with 5.3 billion people have access to safely managed drinking water, which means boreholes or protected well, that’s near ones’ home, with water available through throughout the day and free from contamination and that’s mostly in urban centers and areas, 19% of the households, with roughly 1.4 billion people have access only to basic water services, which means an improved source with around tripe collection time of less than 30minutes, however, the source is not on their household premises, and its water quality is not guaranteed and lastly 785 billion people still lack even to basic water services-they may rely on an improved water services that’s more than 30minutes round tripe away-limited water, they have no access at all to an improved water source, relying instead on an unimproved source such as an unprotected spring or wells. Or they may use surface water for example; rivers, lakes and dams directly and it’s mostly common in islands and rural of the rural areas. And to the above information, conclusively safely managed water is a demanding standard for many low and middle income areas and countries. And it should be noticed and always remembered that VCM is located near the shores of Lake Victoria Bunjakko islands and with no doubt its one of the 785 billion people who still lack access to even basic water services and due to the fact that VCM loves and support its community we can’t just seat and watch our community people get affected by water bone diseases, based water diseases and so many others that’s why we work hard to ensure that our communities can get access to clean, safely managed water, protected and an improved water sources like boreholes. Hope you can join us in the struggle of improving water sources, sanitation and hygiene thus supporting our community outreach program.

GIRLS LIVES AND RIGHTS MATTERS.

Girl child’s life and rights matters:

Long alone girls’ lives and rights were ignored and not valued at all most especially here in our country Uganda. And when it comes to their education it was seen as wastage of resources, child labor was the order of the day and early marriages were not spared due to material greedy by parents and female younger youths were unvalued and to orphans it was worse for they were at death point when it comes to live stay and rights. Besides the above rape and defilement habits were among the best live tortures to girls. Girls were taken to be housemaids and they were not given a chance to education since they were seen fit only for housework.

Though things have started changing and now girls are given right to education and most of their rights, we shouldn’t spare the struggle since it’s still the order of the day in few areas of Uganda and other some parts of the world, And as VCM we work hard to bring it to the senses of all people in the world that girls are also worthy of their full Set of rights thus emphasizing the up rifting of their education through various strategies and I believe together we can amplify the voices and rights of girls all over the world by empowering them in order to reimagining a better world, inspired and full of empowered and acknowledged female youths.

GIRLS NEEDS MATTERS:

Every Girl Deserves A Monthly Provision Of Sanitary Pads;

Well, long alone thousands of abandoned “foster girls” in Uganda and other girls in rural areas could look for possible ways of meeting their monthly need of sanitary pads and they had to get the cheapest materials to be used as sanitary pads for instance making shift pads from old clothes, rags, news papers, bits of mattresses and others that could easily satisfy them as sanitary pads not willingly but due to their living status where no one like a parent could provide them with sanitary pads.

But we should remember that all the noted made materials are not advisable and totally effective to girl’s health since they cause a number of UTI diseases like Candida and others that’s why here at VCM - God’s Village family supporting 280 children, we work hard fulfilling the monthly provision of sanitary pads to our foster daughters which is some time challenging due to our financial shortage. It has been noticed that sanitary pads usage has got a number of positive impacts which include comfortable moments to girls during their period, safe and health moments, promotes girls sanitation and hygiene mentioned but a few. As Vangrace Compassion Ministries and papa Ivan Ssewankambo and Mama Prossy Ssewankambo are struggling much to give the best needs to foster girls. Hope you too can stand up, hold their hands by supporting their monthly provision of foster girls’ sanitary pads and build the health life of our foster children.

GIRLS EDUCATION MATTERS;

Education is aright but its beyond the reach of many a timely strategies -Earlier alone girls education was seen as wastage of resources, child labor was the order of the day and early marriages were not spared due to material greedy by parents and female younger youths were unvalued and to orphans it was worse for they were at death point when it comes to live styles and rights. And though most of the parents realized the value in educating girls still others are still in dangerous dreams of thinking that taking their daughters to school will just cost their resources for nothing yet they can get married and give them materials at their marriage ceremonies which is 100% wrong said and done because without achieving gender equality for girls in education the world has no chance of achieving many of the ambitious health, social and development targets it has set for itself. Because in the new generation error we’re in, educated girls are more likely become involved in the workforce and in turn, bring economic stability to their families and communities and study shows that women invest around 90% of their income into their families and communities thus reducing poverty and improving health, safety, and education for everyone. That’s why VCM always puts more emphasis on girls’ education since we have acknowledged that girls’ education is of are uppermost value. And as we’re working hard in rising girl’s education flag higher, you can join us in rising it to the most highest level by providing them scholastic materials like books, pens, permanent school building structures mentioned but a few. And your donation is directly used up to our child development programs including feeding, clothing, medication, shelter provision, and foster education as well.

GIRLS’ TALK;

Girls are more likely to have personal issues and challenges that they’re not free to share them with parents or elder people and if they’re not provided with urgent possible solutions they can easily follow into various mistakes thus leading to lots of regrets in their lives. And to avoid all that to happen to our foster daughters we always organize for them a girls’ talk moment where we give them time to discuss issues like their menstruation cycle, sharing ideas on how to use the provided menstruation materials, how to keep personal hygiene when in that period and not feel ashamed and embraced of being a girl, all intended to improve their life esteem and health well being. And we would love you meet one of our daughters Janice sharing a girl talk with her foster sisters.

Girls Talk; Sharing About MPS (Menstruation Periods).

Here at God’s village we spare time for the girl talk. As you all know that puberty stages are normal in life especially in girls’ life style. Janice is currently 16 years and she is sharing what she knows with her younger sisters. These girls are all below 14 years so they really needed this talk. She first explained to the girls the meaning of MPs (Menstruation Periods), which is, “the normal bleeding that occurs as part of a girl’s monthly Menstruation cycle. She asked them to not be shy even though it is normal to feel a little bit shy. She told them that it might happen when at home or at school or anywhere. She advised the girls that when it finds them at home and the brothers tend to tease them, let them tell their brothers that “I am getting older and you are living them behind’’. It will calm them down and they will stop teasing you.

Janice taught them how to use sanitary pads. She also encouraged them to always pray to God that Sanitary Napkins/ pads are always around because in their absence life is difficult leading to mystery. “What if I have no pads, and am at school?” Suzan asked. “Ask from a school nurse or any friend you trust.” Janice replied.

Veronica asked what if afraid asking for pads from a school nurse or a friend.” Janice advised them to move with one or two pads in their back bags when leaving for school.

As Gods village family we girls take time for each other because we are one family we might not be related by parents but we are related by the blood of Jesus and we believe that god is always with us. We thank you all for those supporting us

REUNITING BROKEN FAMILIES.

Well, VCM we not only rescue and support vulnerable families but we also reunite broken families and restore hope in them. And we would love you meet and read one of our foster daughter’s story “LIZI” whose mother ran mad and the father got lost from his family for over like eight years and the she was taken as a total orphan since no one could tell where her parents could be found but every One had a mind that may be they had both died. And when we got to know her story we felt touched and took action of helping her but we couldn’t stop asking for updates about her parents from the relatives we knew about since we were not sure about her parent’s lives. And after all the above years the father come out from where he was, moved districts to districts looking for the one he know as the would be care giver of his daughter and that was his sister who lived near our village and she was the one struggling to take care of Lizzi before she came into our arms. And to cut the story into short we were beyond excited to hear that her daddy was still alive and more surprisingly to see him urge to see her daughter again and he came with a request of going back with her daughter and since we had no full custody over her and the parents weren’t there to sign and grant us full custody we had to reunite her with her biological father which gave all of us total joy because both of them were more happy to meet each other again. Hope you can enjoy too that moment below when we’re reuniting them. Vangrace Compassion Ministry is such a great organization but nothing much without your love, care and support.
