Discipleship Training Program.

In Uganda, the church has seen remarkable evangelistic efforts and numerical growth in the last decades, but however many churches have not emphasized the discipleship programs which has left many Christian spiritually stunted. The body of Christ in Uganda must be led into a growing relationship with God through the method that Jesus Christ established – true discipleship. Youths and other elderly people have a great potential to transform their community if they are well equipped with the word of God.

Matthew 4:9 ‘And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men’, So through the discipleship  training,  the youths, elderly people and other ministers are equipped, taught the word of God, and empowered to becoming fishers of men and continue serving the Lord as well as the communities they live in as Christ commanded us to do.

Take Action Today

Has God been talking to you about sharing you faith with others but you do not know where to start from?

Has He laid a particular people group or country on your heart?

Do you know that God is calling you to be a labourer in the fields that are ready to be harvested?

A gift of $35 per month can enable us to train an evangelist or equip a church with resources to reach those who are lost, to those that are eager and yearning to know who God really is. Join us today to make the world a better place for Christians.

Fishing Net Project.

‘And when they had done this, they enclosed a large number of fish, and their nets were breaking.’ Luke 5:6. As fishing was very important during the days of Jesus, it’s also important today.  Many communities here in Uganda rely on fishing as source of food as well as income. But due to problems and challenges that are affecting the fishing industry in Uganda, many of the communities and the families have been left to starve.

Vangrace Compassion Ministries being an NGO based in Mpigi district on Bunjjako island of lake Victoria, community welfare and development is one of our objectives that we have. So we serve several communities living in very poor condition on the shore of lake Victoria. We have been implementing several poverty alleviation programs like employment generation through provision of fishing nets to these communities mostly to vulnerable groups of people as a saying goes ‘better teach a person how to fish than fishing for him.’

After providing fishing nets to the vulnerable groups of people on the islands, we bring them close to our Lord through preaching and teaching them the word of God.

A gift of $50 can help supply fishing net to a fisherman in a community and also it will help him to know more about our Lord & Savior Jesus.

Community Food Program.

The Community Food Supply Program (CFSP) is a program formed to combat hunger, which afflicts one out of every seven people in Uganda.

In emergencies, we deliver food to save the lives of victims of war mostly the refugees, those that are on streets of Uganda mostly kids & mothers and those that are in extreme poverty. We use this food to help communities and vulnerable people to rebuild their shattered lives.

The aim of our community food supply program is to have communities in which every man, woman and child has access at all times to the food needed for an active and healthy life. Without food, there can be no sustainable peace, no health and no development.

Matthew 25:35 ‘For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me’

We also help to increase the self reliance of communities to meet their own food needs. We promote comprehensive responses to local food access, farm and nutrition issues.

Our community Food Supply Program relies entirely on voluntary contributions from our local communities to run its humanitarian and development programs. Contributions are made mainly as food or the basic items necessary to grow, store and cook food. None of the people who ate food could have done so without the generosity of our local communities and some few sponsors.

For just $40 we can provide a supplemental food bags filled with rice, beans, maize flour, and other staples.

Donate a Bible to a Poor Christian.

Share the story of Jesus and the glory of God's work. Communities around the world are asking for Bibles and study materials. Your gift means so much for children eager to discover the Bible in their own language and also people who are saved. Imagine living in the world where there’s no bibles. How would you learn about Jesus? How would your faith grow? How would you give Bible studies and share the gospel truth with seekers?

Sounds impossible, doesn’t it? Yet that’s what many of poor Christians in Uganda are forced to do. Thirsting for His Word, they don’t have enough Bibles to go around! In fact, many will sacrifice three days of food just to save enough money for a single Bible!

That’s why Vangrace Compassion Ministries sharing Christ through the Evangelical Missions, we give out bibles to the new souls of Christ and those that do not have bibles. These has helped us in the spreading of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ through different parts of the country.

The people of Uganda are eager to read and understand God’s Word, especially as they face daily challenges. Uganda is religiously diverse, and local traditions and zealous religious violence confront those who seek salvation in Jesus Christ. Regional conflicts, persecution, the outbreak of disease, and the hardship of severe poverty are a constant pressure for Christian faith. But believers in Uganda are encouraged, not discouraged, and eager to learn God’s Word. A village elder of Budaka district-Uganda told us how so many relied on ancestor worship, but no longer, “We know what it means to come out of the darkness into the light!”

Stop Malaria Program.

Every 60 seconds, a child in Uganda dies from a malaria infection and 90% of all malaria deaths occur in the communities that we serve in.  When combined with HIV/AIDS, malaria is even more deadly, particularly for pregnant women and children.

In the poorest parts of the world like Uganda, window screens are lacking, anti-malaria drugs are expensive, and so far an effective malaria vaccine does not exist. Insecticide-treated bed nets are often the most cost-effective way to prevent malaria transmission.

While malaria remains one of the deadliest diseases in Uganda, infections can be prevented by sleeping under long-lasting insecticide-treated bed nets (LLINs). These nets, which are designed to last at least three years, work by creating a protective barrier against deadly malaria-carrying mosquitoes that typically bite at night.

The benefits of these bed nets extend even further than protecting those sleeping underneath them. The insecticide woven into each net makes entire communities safer – killing mosquitoes so that they can’t go on to bite others who may not be protected by a net. Bed nets can reduce malaria transmissions by as much as 90 percent in areas with high coverage rates.

It costs just $10 to send a bed net to the families who need them. Join us now. Send a net and save a life.

Gulu Relief Missions.

‘As the light faded from the northern Ugandan sky, the children emerged from their families’ mud huts to begin the long walk along dirt roads to Gulu, the nearest town. Wide-eyed toddlers held older kids’ hands. Skinny boys and girls on the verge of adolescence peered warily into roadside shadows. Some walked as far as seven miles. They were on the move because they live in a world where a child’s worst fears come true, where armed men really do come in the darkness to steal children, and their shambling daily trek to safety has become so routine there’s a name for them: “night commuters.” Says Akello.

The people of Gulu endured 20 years of war and experienced some of the worst atrocities known to man.  The LRA would plunder villages and kill the adults. The village children would be forced to carry the stolen goods to an LRA camp or to safe haven across the border into Sudan. During the forced march these captives were beaten. An LRA soldier would either kill any who could not keep up or require one of the children to do it; refusal meant suffering the same fate. The children were either forced to be soldiers or sold into slavery or prostitution. Young girls were given to LRA leaders as wives.  They selected soldiers by having the children shoot or hack to death a relative or some other villager. Children who tried to escape were brought back and killed in the most brutal way as a deterrent.

Mass graves, child soldiers, mutilations, rape, murder and genocide are words that come to mind when one thinks of this place.

As Vangrace Compassion Ministries, we reach out to these people by empowering them physically, spiritually and emotionally. You donation can empower these people by providing safe water and food to them, mosquito nets, clothes and educating many of the children that need to be educated and helping those that are HIV/AIDS. You can help support the people of Northern Uganda as they rebuild their lives. Remember your donations go a long way in empowering them. The needs are many and overwhelming.  We help in several areas including peace efforts, education.

Just $ 15 USD monthly can help support the people of Northern Uganda as they rebuild their lives.

Solar Light Project.

We deliver solar-powered LED light/cell phone charge kits to rural Ugandan families who do not have electric power. With the kits, children can study at night and their families can charge their cell phones to market their crops. The project provide direct benefits while proving that with some ambition and effort, anyone can be impactful .Just one solar light can transform the fortunes of an entire family and replace a costly, toxic kerosene lamp; leading to savings of around $70 per year, improving health, education and the environment. Spread some light today. No one should be left out in the dark.

This project provides solar lights to communities that have no access to electricity. These helps to eradicate the use of harmful kerosene lamps and reduce on the cost of families spending on kerosene, candles or batteries for light by about 10% of household income. Households using solar lights also help reduce CO2 emissions.

Children benefit when solar lights are used in their home. Solar lights enable them to study an extra hour each night - leading to better grades and progress at school.

The whole family benefits health-wise because by using solar light they have less eye strain, are not exposed to dangerous fumes are able to move around safely at night, and have less fire hazards.

Crop Growing Project.

Barren and unproductive land can be turned into productive and flourishing land by providing and exercising improved methods of farming. We provide all the required skills to farmers in the communities that we serve in. This has helped many farmers as well as our Orphanage farm to produce better and high yield products. Our aim is to have a sustainable project that will help us to feed our children and also helping our communities to have enough food regardless of the seasons.

The disadvantaged, the poor and the unemployed. In particular, women, mothers and grandmothers are our main target group when it comes to communities, not because we exclude anyone else, but because it is mainly they who come forward and actually carry the impulse of crop growing in the villages.

We equip our farmers with farming skills e.g. irrigation skills, practice of proper food safety, having a garden that produce a range of foods, crop rotation, mulching, how to use fertilizers and spraying crops with pesticides.

This project has helped many people mostly the refugees. High yields have been maintained as well as the fertility of soil.
